At Helping Hands Resource Center, we believe that stronger communities begin with informed caregivers and educators. This 3-hour training is designed to equip child development professionals and students with trauma-informed approaches that create safe, nurturing spaces for children.
Participants will:
Understand the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
Explore Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) and Nonviolent Communication (NVC) principles
Learn strategies to foster resilience in children
Engage in a reflective art activity for self-awareness and growth
Leave with self-care tools to sustain their work

This 2-hour training is designed for caregivers, counselors, and advocates who serve survivors of trauma and domestic violence. Together, we will explore practical strategies that strengthen our community response and support survivors on their healing journeys.
Participants will:
Learn how trauma impacts individuals and communities
Explore the core principles of Trauma-Informed Care: safety, trust, empowerment, and compassion
Recognize triggers and practice supportive strategies for response

This class is rooted in healing, empathy, and nonviolent parenting strategies. In a supportive online community, you’ll gain tools to help your family thrive.
What You’ll Learn:
How trauma impacts parenting and behavior
Tools to connect with your child through empathy and reflection
How to set healthy boundaries without punishment
Class Schedule:
Fridays, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM PST

Commitment: Participants must commit to attending all 8 sessions
